As we come out of hibernation from a long cold winter, we see a wonderful year coming up in 2006. Many rallies and events are being planned all over the country for those of us who love our vintage trailers! From Florida to Washington, from New Mexico, to Pennsylvania – no matter where you live, you'll find an event in your area to attend and meetup with others to enjoy the comraderie of "Vintage Trailer" folks. So dust off the cold winter blues and get your trailer prepped and ready to go camping, that's why we have them, right? Check out our Rally Info page for what's coming up all year long...
Several people have contacted me about the website and said that they are really finding it useful and are excited to see it available. That is the exact reason that I developed it! To be a useful and informative site that can be used as a jumping off point to more fun and useful information available on the internet. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel or to duplicate all the other excellent information out there, I'm just trying to make it easier to find it! I have a page counter on the homepage and it seems to reflect that the site is very popular and is being used by a large number of people every single day. Some folks may be new to the vintage trailer thing, while others are just using it to get to some information that they refer to often. Either way, I'm just happy to supply a way for people to get the information easily.
I'm constantly amazed to see the comeback of several of these vintage trailers. As people take them from various stages of rotting hulks of wood and aluminum to some of the most beautiful trailers I've ever seen. With lots of hard work, sweat, and yes, tears too, go into these trailers that we are proud to call our own. I'm toying with the idea of adding a section to the website that focuses on "Rebuilds". A place where others could show just how exciting, hopeful, and sometimes infuriating, it can be to bring a vintage trailer back to life. Please let me know if this is something you would like to see added to this site...and if you have done this, or know someone who has, please forward the info and some contact information my way.
Thanks, Chris |
